personal / professional goals

How to Achieve Your Goals?

“A goal properly set is halfway reached”
Zig Ziglar

It all starts when you start writing it down

Write your goals down – on paper or in your personal goals book. When you write something down, you are acknowledging both to your conscious and subconscious minds that, where you are right now and where you want to be.

Here are steps to achieve your goals:

1. State your personal goals/ professional goals in positive terms.
Focus on WHAT YOU WANT. I have seen many people focusing on what they don’t want. Remember, “Your energy flows where your focus goes”, so if you are focused more on what you don’t want, then that’s what you will manifest in your life.

E.g. Instead of saying, “I don’t want to be nervous when I meet new people”, say, “I want to be CONFIDENT when I meet new people”.

2. Be as specific as possible.
Use your all senses, when you describe your goals. Set a specific completion date. It should empower your brain to send clear signals to your nervous system.

3. Have an evidence procedure.
You need to measure your goals in the process, otherwise how would you know that you are achieving it? Know how you will LOOK, what you will HEAR and how you will FEEL after you have achieved it. If one path doesn’t work then find a new path until you achieve it.

4. Be in charge.
Your goals must be initiated and maintained by you because its your goals. You won’t get the motivating drive until it’s your goal. You need to be IN CHARGE to achieve it.

5. Make sure its purely Ecological.
What it means is, it should benefit you, your surrounding and the planet. Remember, we all are connected and affect each other. So, whatever you give, you get it back.

Review and Repeat

Repetition is the mother of skill.

You cannot set goals one time, never look at them again and then expect long-term results. Your unconscious mind may know the general direction to move in, but the power comes from daily practice and constant review. People looking for a quick fix will never achieve mastery. Reaching your goals takes focus and practice: You have to repeat it over and over again.

Remember, “Anything is possible, if you believe in you”.

So, keep BELIEVING and keep GROWING.

what are your goals

What are your goals in life?

“People are not lazy. They simply have impotent goals – that is, goals that do not inspire them.”

~ Tony Robbins

So, what do you want in life? Where do you see yourself in the next 5yrs? Do you want your life to be ok or wants to live a powerful life? Which key areas of your life do you want to improve? What new things will you aspire to learn this year? These are few sets of questions which you can ask yourself to be aware of your goals.

I have seen people dreaming about lots of things. They cause too many goals and are extremely optimistic when they set them, and feel dissapointed when they do not accomplish them.

The major trouble with most of the people is they rarely recognize what they really want in life, as they are extremely influenced by other people’s goals. They want to have goals just because their peers have it. They want to buy a car, house, smartphones, etc. just because their near and dear ones have bought it and they just forget to live their own dreams.

You must ask yourself:

“What do I really want in my life?”

You must set goals which really inspires you, which will compel you to live an inspiring life. The life which you desired. Once you set them, you will encounter few challenges in the path, which might create a hurdle to achieve those goals. So, just BELIEVE in yourself and be FOCUSED, PERSISTENT, DETERMINED and CONSISTENT in your action.

All great people who have inspired us have faced the challenges in their lives, and in spite of that they have succeeded. Take note of the following examples:

» for his first U-15 match in Pune, Sachin Tendulkar walked from Dadar to Shivaji Park carrying two big bags as he did not have money to afford a cab.

» Walt Disney was put to work on a newspaper route, delivering newspapers come hail or sun, at the tender age of 9, and that too without pay.

» Steve Jobs faced many upheavals in his career at Apple Computers, despite being one of the co-founders.

» Dhirubhai Ambani is one of Indian’s best motivating stories of all times – he founded Reliance Industries in 1969 with a seed capital of just US $ 1000 and later on made it Fortune 500 company. We all know how’s Reliance is doing nowadays. So his legacy still goes on.

I can continue this list, or I can focus on you and help you have a long talk with yourself to define your goals – what are your goals?

Once you know “WHAT” you want? Then you must know “WHY” you want it? WHY is the fuel that makes the invisible visible.

You will find your purpose once you get clarity as to WHY you must achieve your goal.

Remember, the purpose is STRONGER than the outcome.

If you create a strong enough “WHY” to keep you going, you will have the fuel to endure anything that comes your way.

As Tom Bradley rightly quoted:

“The only thing that will stop you from fulfilling your dreams is you.”

So, keep believing in yourself.

In this post, you have understood what you really want in life and why you want it. In the next blog, I will show you how to achieve what you really want.

Do I need a Life Coach?

A life coach is a professional who helps you set and achieve your goals in life, the one who brings out the best in you. They help you step out of your comfort zone and start taking action in the areas of your life that you wish to improve upon. Their goal is to help you reach your goal in the most efficient and effective way. So we come to the most pertinent question you can ask yourself – do I need a life coach?

To answer the above question, answer these following questions first:

  • Do you face challenges in your business, relationships or personal life?
  • Do you struggle in setting and achieving your goals?
  • Do you feel frustrated when you know you could have done it and still you didn’t do that?
  • Do you want to live a life you desire?

If you answered yes more than once, then you can definitely benefit from a LIFE COACH.

People are tired of doing what others think they “should” do and are ready to do something which they really want to do, which will be be meaningful for the rest of their lives.

I have seen people hiring a fitness coach but missing out on a life coach. You can’t possibly achieve success and satisfaction in your life simply with a fit body, although that’s important too. You need someone to accelerate your growth, make you aware of your hidden unlimited potential. You need a life coach. And for several reasons too, namely:

  • Setting and achieving goals and objectives
  • Overcoming Phobias and Fears
  • Financial security and independence
  • Balancing business and personal life
  • Harmony in relationships
  • Dealing with problems effectively
  • Identifying core values and passions
  • Fulfilling personal and emotional needs
  • Getting organized
  • Optimising work performance
  • Getting motivated and many more

In fact, the hard truth is, each and every person on this planet needs a life coach, irrespective of how much successful you are.

Life coaches are experts in helping you achieve a balance in all areas of your life. They help you be your best, doing more than you think you can. A life coach will encourage you to listen to your inner voice which always helps you grow in your life. With the help of a professional and qualified life coach, you will start taking more effective and focused actions immediately.
You will set better goals that are based on what you really want, unaffected by what others think. You will learn to live life more on your terms, giving you more confidence and consequently, success in the different aspects of your life.

So, what are your thoughts? Do you think you can benefit from a life coach?
